My name is Nicholas Wilson, and I am an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Stony Brook University, where I also hold affiliated appointments in the departments of History and Asian & Asian-American Studies.

My research focuses on the English East India Trading Company and colonialism, the methodology of interdisciplinary research, transformations in the historical category of corruption, and the sociology of knowledge and morality.  My book on corruption, Modernity’s Corruption: Empire, Sociability and Morality in the Making of British India, is in progress and under contract with Columbia University Press.
